Fiber-reinforced composites - GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) owing to their advantages (they are non-corrosive, do not require specific maintenance, are non-magnetic, and generally resistant to chemicals) are suitable for utilizing in building construction. Lifetime and durability of composites under cyclic loading is still insufficiently explored. The CSF (Continuous Source Functions) meshless method will be used for solving these problems on the level of micromechanical models for homogenization of composite materials. Dynamic and fatigue properties under multiaxial loading of composite structures will be analyzed. Criteria with using of procedures with uncertain parameters in the probabilistic sense and with using of the theory of variety will be applied for predicting fatigue life. Concrete objects with GFRP will be tested under static and cyclic loading conditions. Attention will be given to verifying the detail of concrete - GFRP join with concrete pins. NDT (Non-destructive testing) procedures such as acoustic emission and IR thermography will be used for damage detection. Results of the tests will be confronted with the microstructural model. Theoretical and user manuals for created assessment methodology will be also prepared in order to understand theoretical foundations of the developed computational procedures. Recommendations for the construction practice and monitoring of objects under operating conditions will be also the outputs.

Correct evaluation of existing railway and road bridges based on the reliability verification together with the economic calculation of effectiveness of the rehabilitation interventions introduces significant tool for objectification of decision making processes how to choose optimal method of the bridge rehabilitation. Using existing sophisticated tools for experimental and numerical structural analysis, modern methods of engineering or mathematic theory of structural reliability and economic methods for effectiveness expression of the expended financial resources, the new knowledge in the form of innovative and unified European methodology of existing bridge evaluation will be achieved to accomplish bridge life cycle cost analyse in conjunction with financial expression. New unified approach to the bridges evaluation in frame of their management system has to accept the current state of European technical standardisation, which was absent in previous approaches. The assumptions of the application of the newly developed system of bridge evaluation in whole Europe will be created in this manner.
